Virgin
- 105.8FM - broadcasts "Classic tracks and today's best
music" including Rock music and news aimed at an older audience
than, say, Capital. Virgin claim that they are "The UK's Most
Listened to Commercial Radio Station" with 7 million listeners
UK-wide. The web site has a stereo live feed as well as the mono
one.

has a wide variety of local radio stations from pop to rock to
news to reggae.
Here is a little about the most popular stations, many of whom
also have on-line internet radio.
Capital FM is still the
most popular independent radio station in London; in their words
"London's number one hit music station." Capital is one
of the first independent local radio stations in the UK and
started broadcasting on 16 October 1973.It mainly plays pop chart
music.
News
Direct is a 24 hour a day news station broadcasting travel and
weather information in addition.
Kiss
,100FM is a wonderful station for dance music.
Classic
FM 109FM - Classical music, competes with BBC Radio 3 for a
younger classical music listener with surprising success.
Breakfast show plays short bits so they can add news/travel
between the Beethoven whilst you are eating your toast! The
evening drive show has a similar format.
